It’s That Time Of Year!

My first favorite holiday is, the one and only, Christmas! If you do not know what Christmas is, it is a holiday dedicated to Jesus Christ’s birthday. It takes place on the 25 of December, and it goes on for 2 days! The first day is December 24 which they call “Christmas Eve” which is the day before “Christmas Day” (December 25).

Some of the traditions on Christmas is to decorate a evergreen tree with ornaments, lights, and other things you may want on it. Another tradition is to put stockings over a fire. Another tradition is that you will write to a man named Santa Claus what you want for Christmas. Then on Christmas Day he will climb down your chimney during the night and leave presents under your Christmas tree. He will also fill your stockings with candy. Also, Santa uses a magic sleigh that is pulled by reindeer that flies. The name of the reindeer is Dasher, Dancer, Prancer Vixen, Comet, Cupid, Donner, Blitzen, and Rudolph who is the leader. Rudolph has a bright red nose, unlike the other reindeer. Also, another tradition is that you leave cookies and milk out for Santa to eat.

Santa is a jolly fellow who lives in the North Pole with his reindeer and elves. The elves are workers for Santa that makes toys for the kids. The elves are short people who wear green and have pointy ears. Santa wears a  red hat, red sweater, red pants, and black boots. He wears a belt and has a big white beard.

Santa!    My Christmas Tree

Christmas is celebrated in different ways around the world. Some differences of Christmas around the world is that Santa may wears different clothes. According to an article called “Christmas In Australia” when Santa gets to Australia he changes into less hot ones. He also lets the reindeer rest and uses kangaroos instead, or six white boomers (which is a popular Australian song). Another thing that is different is traditions. According to the article “Christmas in Germany” a part in Chritsmas celbrations is an Advent. An Advent is a calendar that leads up to Christmas.
