You may or may not know that English is the language that almost EVERYONE speaks. So, since people in America already KNOW English, they teach Spanish instead of English since it’s the second most spoken language in the world. But, in other countries where English isn’t the official language, they teach English instead of Spanish to middle-schoolers. Another fun fact is that in Canada instead of saying “First grade” or “Sixth Grade” they say “Grade one” or “Grade six”. Another fact is that in Brazil, public universities have free-tuition. The final fact is that in Manaus, Brazil there is a “floating school” called “floating Municipal school” where they do normal school activities while on a boat.

Also, schools may look different around the world. In the U.S, we most likely see a clean, and nice classroom. But, in not so wealthy countries like Mexico, India, or Mali might have concrete walls and may use worn out books. These countries sometimes can’t afford to buy classroom supplies or nice walls. Another thing that you might see that will be different is what they wear. Some may wear a uniform, everyday clothes, shawls, and other traditional clothes that the students may choose to wear.
