The Lonely Statue & Image Story

The statue stood there. He was a lonely, miserable fellow. Each day, he would look at the strange people around him. He would study their weird movement and the funny shifting of their brows. They would speak in a way the statue did not understand. The statue thought that they were godsĀ and that he, was nothing but a mortal. Tiny winged creatures would fly around him onto the floating lake surrounding him, and they would make strange sounds too. But, the gods were not what the statue thought they would be. They would laugh at him, throw food at him, draw the most disgusting things he had ever seen on him, and worst of all, they would make the winged creatures go away. The creatures got so frightened, that they flew away and never returned. The statue could not take it anymore. He started to cry. He felt the water on his cheeks, and then he felt himself move. He stood in a straight position and held his shovel in his hand. The gods gasped and started to back away, but the statue did not let them. He moved his legs as fast as he could until he was right in front of the gods. The gods angered him, so he walked up to him and…
